Classic DVD 102 Hack Needed...

I followed the instructions on several sites, and got to the menu for region free playing. I then select BYPASS, but when I put in a Region 2 DVD, the player sounds like its gonna die, and doesn't read the disc. Any suggestions? Also, anyone know of a way to diable Macrovision on the Classic 102?
