Hi Roland, Please try the one below. I have checked it out on a DVD-45 so it may not work on your DVD-55 but try it out anyway.

ALBA DVD-45
Multi-Region:

Turn On player
Open disc tray either using the Eject on the player or Open on the remote
Press 2, 8, 1 and 2
A menu should pop up, press Enter until 9 appears
DVD player is now region-free
