I've contacted LG and it seems that most models work with the same 'unlock' code:
1) Unplug player
2) Plug player back in
3) Use remote to switch on the POWER
4) Wait for 'no disc' msg
5) Press wollowing keys on remote:
PAUSE, 3,1,4,1,5,9
6)'Code__' will appear on screen
7) Press 0 (to activate multi zone) or 1/2/3... for the specific zone you want.
8 Press PAUSE, POWER
9) Unit will turn off and be in selected mode.

Retry [1..9] if it does not work 1st time...
