Insert a musin CD, stop playing, with remote, press:
menu, 1, index, open
brings up: Enable VCD 1)yes/2)no
press 1 and exit and it will play VCD, SVCD, mp3 burned on CDr or CDrw.

On, no disk, with remote, press:
menu, 7, 6, 0
brings up update software menu (1)yes/2)no)
I assume this is for firmware update. If anyone has the patched firmware, please post.

no success with region hack (1,6,7,0) or macrovision.
