: okay, i burned an mpeg to a cd, got hold of the vcd hack you posted with the highest of high hopes. i put in a music cd, took it out, and popped in my vcd. alas, no joy. i pressed menu and 5 and waited for stop to appear... but ti no avail. the message that appeared on my screen was 'no disc'. and that was pretty much the end of my vcd experience. Is it a problem with the disc i burned or do you think i'm heading about the hack and its application the wrong way?

Hello, sorry for the delay in getting back to you! I've had the same problem with certain vcd's I've made, I dont get the stop screen, so I just continue with the instructions.......press menu and 5 (forget any message about no disc) then press 0,0,0,1, play then 0. The disc should now play! If you still have problems, what mpeg decoder do you use? I use TMPGENC V2.510.49.157 (you can download demo or get full version off of Kazaa) mind you it takes forever to convert from AVI to VCD! Anyway give it another try and post a message back here to let me know how you get on........ the hack does work I've tested it, and I'm not even a computer geek!
