Hi,
Im just an old Grandpa that got tired of seeing the way my Grandkids
handle their DVD Movies and decided to make Back Ups for them.
So, I am completely new at this.
I purchased a LiteOn DVD+R/+RW DVD/CD 401S Rewritable Drive. After
reading about backing up DVDs on the net I downloaded a copy of DVD
Shrink for ripping and I have Nero 6 for burning.
The first DVD back up I tried would not play back in my LiteOn Burner
using Power DVD 4. I got error message " The DVD disc might have been
damaged so as to InhibitPlayback operation. " It mentioned that
the Disc might be scratched or damaged but I did not detect anything
visually. I went to Best Buy and purchased some Fuji DVD+R Blanks and
decided to try it again.
I went through the same process and when I finished I tried playing it
back in my Burner with the same results. I was very disgusted so I
through that one away also. After cooling down a bit I got the DVD out
of the trash and thought I would at least try playing it in my
Panasonic DVD player and BINGO ! It worked great.
I would appreciate any ideas please. Would I need different software
to read other that Power DVD on the computer or would it be the Burner
is bad?
Sorry if the answer is obvious, like I said , Im just an old Fart that
does not know much.
Thank you all Very much in advance !!

Download dvd decryprer, then use dvd2one or dvd shrink 3, then use
nero to burn back to the media.
dvd2one
www.dvd2one.com
dvd shrink
www.dvdshrink.org
dvd decrypter
www.dvddecrypter.com
Some prefer dvd shrink, I prefer dvd2one. If your new to burning then
dvd2one is easier to use and faster. dvd2one has to be registered
because the download version is only a brief 14 day trial version and
only does the first 30 mins.

power dvd x4 is very good. Just set it for the drive. It could be that
this newer burner can't be seen by this software. If that's the case
there maybe a download patch so your drive can be seen by the software
so you can play it back in your pc.
