if you have multiple clips, can you make them run sequentially without
pauses, and make them run in another order. I know how to use a video
editor and join the clips and make a movie, but if you want to make a
movie, and then use a scene selection (something like some bloopers)
menu it just goes to the scene. If there anyway to make a movie that
will play sequentially, and then have another menu that will play just
the blooper clips in sequence without a pause between the clips.
do you have to make another movie (joining the clips in an editor) and
then put that on the DVD also (having the same clip on the DVD twice =
more storage space)
thanks with you help.

I think the gruesome DVDit will do this. Normally, yes, you'd need to
have two 'sets' of clips, since the programs that can play clips
sequentially (MovieFactory, Workshop, etc) have a "Create Menus" box
that you uncheck to put the program into 'sequence mode'. When
they're in 'menu mode', each clip is treated individually.
What's needed is an 'Append' feature, where you can use one button to
play the main clip, then a second button to play the main clip and
append the others to it. As far as I know, DVDit is the only
'graphic' menu-maker that has an 'append' feature. Some of the
'timeline' menu-makers, like DVD Maestro or DVD-lab. probably do it.
The reason I say "gruesome" is because DVDit has the most horrid
backgrounds and buttons of the bunch. Worse, the chaptering routine
is really bizarre. It's like they didn't even LOOK to see how
Workshop and MovieFactory and SpruceUp did it.
Double-worse, the 'Append' feature is kind of clunky. Rather than
just having it go to the next clip when the first is through, you have
to send it to a second menu (which never displays) where the second
clip is located. Apart from that little double-step, it works just
fine.
Have fun with the project,
Doc

Well, if you happen to have some stunningly beautiful buttons and
backgrounds lying around with which to import. :)
As far as DVDit goes, I consider it the most 'serious' of the
graphical menu-makers. They actually tried to let us have a little
interaction between the clips, whereas most of them are just
slap-and-dash jobs. Onto the preview window, slap in some scene
selections, that's all you can do. Got another clip? Please repeat
step #1. The tough question asked in this thread is a great example
of how DVDit's 'End Action' feature could step in to save the day.
The thing that really sets it apart, though, is its relaxed tolerance
concerning video bitrates. It's the whole 'trick' to putting three or
four high-quality movies on a DVD disc. In my tests, only it and
SpruceUp will do this. All of the others will either outright reject
the files as non-compliant (which they are), or accept them but want
to re-render them back to true DVD specs...but then the files will be
too big to fit on the disc. The only answer is DVDit or SpruceUp.
They'll accept these 'hybrid' files (standard resolution, standard
audio, below-standard min and max video bitrates), NOT re-render them,
and turn out a disc which will play just fine and look fabulous.
Something cute I wrote the other night:
