I downloaded the Cliprex DS DVD player, and installed it, to see if it
performed any better tne the one I had.
It was supposedly a free "ad" version.
It appears to have loaded up no less than 150 data miners. Ad ware
indeed.
When I installed it asked if I wanted this speedbar and that net
search capability. I said no.
When it ran, it would flash ads onscreen before each playing. OK. I
could live with that.
It was not very good, so I uninstalled it.
I was not very impressed, because "uninstalling" consisted of simply
removing any files it thought were OK to remove, including any CODECs
it used. They just happened to be all Windows CODECs. Suddenly nothing
else worked. Luckily I had replacements easily installable.
Today, as I was checking newsgroups with no other stuff running on the
Web and no messages downloading, I noticed that my data lights were
going flat out (I wish they worked that well when I want stuff!).
I disconnected.
For the first time, I have been bombed by data miners and other system
sneaker snots. Ad-aware found 156 of them. That's probably more than I
have had altogether since I started using Ad-aware! Some of them could
be removed only by rebooting. Can you imagine the snivelling little
wankers who design them "hehe. We can really bury this one deep"
snigger snigger.
Some of them were marked High risk.
And it looked as if they were damned busy.
To the best of my knowledge, I have not been anywhere else of evil
intent.
AD-ware indeed!
Sucky little bastards.

So I searched for "mmod"
There was mmod.exe, manufacturer............Cliprex. OhHo!
Next time I looked it was gone. I am not sure if that was before or

If it was after, it scares me, because that means these bastards have
their hooks into me and simply resend it (?????)
If before, then that scares me. This programme hides itself, then
fires up when I log on?
I also just found a directory called Ezula, which is a name I

I am going to see what happens.
I am also going to let these guys know, even if it means they can
again ID me and start again.
Is there anywhere I can complain to?

My I suggest you don't buy it, I did 2 years ago, they never send you
notification of the new releases, ( you have to have a password to get into
the download site for the paid version)
took me about 2 months, on 2 different occasions, to get my updated version.

the download site for the paid version)
took me about 2 months, on 2 different occasions, to get my updated version.
