HI -

I just picked up one of these via an open box deal for next to
nothin.. Of course without paying much, didnt get a remote or a
manual... I am trying to back up my beloved GetALife collection
before I wear out my tapes. I recorded one episode to the DVD-RW. My
PC will not recognize it, and neither will my stand alone dvd player.
The dvr225, however, plays it just fine. I need my pc to be able to
read it because i have to rip the dvd to xvid so I can put it on my
fileserver

Any suggestions? Manuvering the menus without a remote seems
impossible... I still have 30 days to take it back... But it was such
a good price...

Do you need to finalize the disc before any other device will
recognize it?

thanks

1st, order a replacement remote for it. 2nd, in most cases you DO have to
finalize the disks b4 they will be readable.

The manual may be available at Pioneer's web site, most are.

You have to finalize the disk for them to be readable on anything but the DVR-225. DVD-RW may or may not finilize. Use DVD-R's, cheaper and easier.
