Hi all,
I'm using a Freecom DVD writer, and just wondered what is the best blank DVD
(either R's or RW's), around at the moment. The writer can burn either '+'
or '-' disks.

Thanks,
Brendan

Basically, you tend to get what you pay for.

So go to a cheap shop and buy their most expensive diks, if in doubt ask the
most p*ssed off assistant who will tell you what to buy and the alternative
shop to go to.

scratchable surface....$4.20 each. www.meritline.com

i have had the best luck with TDK DVD+R 4X blanks, i have burned over
600 of them, with less than 10 bad disks. also Memorex DVD-R 4X blanks
have been good for - format disks, only burned about 150 of them so far.

I'll say. Someone cracks a small joke and gets called an "asshole"?
Jeez, tough group. :)

Back to the topic, as far as the "best" media around, I'd put the Fuji
near the top of the list. I have a friend with a real fussy Pioneer
standalone and he has all kinds of problems with home-burned discs. I
mentioned the Fujis to him (OfficeMax) and no problems since. They're
expensive, but not as costly as coasters.

Oh now max you know you have been a major pain and an asshole for
quite a long time on this group and others. A search of google will
easily prove that! Perhaps someone with a reputation of being an
asshole and not the type to help with serious questions will sometimes
get called an asshole even when they were not being one THIS TIME!
I highly doubt it though. Your history stinks. Any google search on
max volume will prove this.
Have a nice day!

Your opinion, moron. You simply don't like what I have to say, and you
obviously didn't read the subject line or you would have gotten the
joke.

I pity you.

It was not that people did not get it, it was so obviously lame and stupid
most of us ignored it.

I don't mind that, I was referring to Chim Bubba's decision that I
should be called an asshole for simply making a joke.

Some of the best jokes are lame and stupid....ever watch the three
stooges, or laurel & hardy? People still find them funny. The way
the topic was written just begged for a comeback :)

Ignoring humor you don't appreciate is fine, but IMHO the lamer that
called someone an a$$hole just because he didn't like the joke (or
didn't like the person who posted it) was out of line, and really
needs to get a life :)

Dont play dumb max volume. Simply put your reputation is what brought
about that comment. As was said before a simple search of google of
max volume and not just this newsgroup will see that have had a habit
of being an asshole. I believe not too long ago you and a larry
horowitz went head to head on this group. Listen when you have a
reputation as a asshole or a hardass and then you try to be funny and
crack a joke, Guess what??? Some people will get the wrong idea. Your
joke wasn't particularly funny but, you have a history of giving smart
ass answers to people who ask serious questions. Your answers never
ever help anyone they are almost always SARCASTIC at best.
Nuff said!

Listen moron, it was a joke, plain and simple. The fact is that your
OPINION of me is what prompted the insult. It was quite plainly a
joke.

Brendan,

I've had nothing but success with Riteks. I'm currently using Ritek 4x
(known as G4's) and I love 'em. Burned about 300 so far, before that I
burned well over 2,000 of the Ritek G3's (1x/2x) and they're all still
playable without problems. I buy the inkjet printable ones, but they
are also available as just silver topped and ones with Ritek logos. I
get them from rima.com or allmediaoutlet.com for about $1.30 or lesss.

I like the -R because they seem to be more compatible with dvd players
I and my friends own.
